Greens were in excellent condition. I've played Riverside several times since the major renovation/redesign and only once since the greens were damaged severely last year and reseeded or sodded. I couldn't but also notice that new sod was laid in some areas, even off the fairways, to improve the tee to green areas. Kudos to management and maintenance crew members. I look forward to playing Riverside again soon.

The condition was good. Have to say that I'm not a fan of the changes to 16 and 17. 16 is ok, I guess. But 17 is just dumb. They should have left 17 as a fairly difficult par (making the course a par 71) instead of turning it into a goofy/bad par 4. The greens were ok, but if you're going to have severe undulations the staff needs to be trained on where holes should be cut. ACGT has enough issues with slow play without thoughtless hole placements, which only exacberate the problem.

For those of you with short attention spans…go play it! For the rest of you it is not a bad walk and no riding for now. No carts sure helps the ball sit up in the fairway. It is the home of rectangular sand traps, never seen this feature before. This would have been a five star review but pace of play was on the slow side, no marshal to be found & poa annua taking over 11 green. FYI nine does come back to the clubhouse so you can get a refreshment. I saw no beverage cart. By the way, this has to be the best golf bargain in SA. Decent to good conditions & $27 green fee. Remember walking only presently. Return trip 7/6…I like this place. I’d guess within a month they will have carts. 7/19/25-I still like Riverside & it’s still not a hard walk but five hours is way too long to play 18. Get to eight tee & you can see no one on nine and no Marshall. Mention in the Pro Shop & met with a shoulder shrug. Not the fan I was…

Played today Riverside looks great played great what a change from a few months ago. August 2025. These guys did a great job taken care of the greens. Don’t know how they did it but looks great. Here is another review for Riverside April 2025. Please avoid this course for the next few months. Greens are in terrible shape. This is the worst they have been. If you hit the green might as week mark down a two and pick up your ball. If not then add 4 strokes. Staff said that the previous superintendent used the wrong thing on greens and burned them. This is the worst greens in the city. Sorry but have to tell it as it is. Going to add pictures. Today is March 2025 and played today. The greens were in really bad shape do not understand why. This place was just redone 18 months ago. I have taken pictures of the greens really bad shape for spring. Second time I have played here. It was in a lot better shape this time hopefully in the weeks coming it will continue it will get better and better. The only thing is the slow play of people that have never played or just a couple of times. They are so slow. Can we get a Marshall out to speed it up. Never seen anyone two weeks in a row except the starter. I know there are no carts there yet but you could get one for a Marshall. Update we played here for the third time Mar 9, 2024 place was in great shape. Very nicely maintained. Greens are still being sanded from the remodel of the course. But overall it was in great shape. Hit a 82 today. Another great outing at Riverside today. It was in fantastic shape. The best shape of any course on Alamo trails in my opinion. The only problem is is they’re gonna have carts soon and the place is gonna be ruined because of people that don’t know how to 90°. I wish they would make it only pushcarts. However I know that can’t happen and it will look like Olmos before you know it. May 1st 2024 another great golf day with Alamo Trailsand Riverside. Hit an 83 today here’s a few picks
